WATER TREATMENT MANDATORY - All water (substrate, dish, misting) must be treated with dechlorinator. Chlorine causes toxic shock syndrome which is often fatal. Use Zoo Med Reptisafe or Tetra AquaSafe.

LEG TWITCHING/STRETCHING - This is a sign of serious health issues including sepsis. Soak frog in tepid dechlorinated water (change every 15-20 min) and contact vet immediately.

NEVER USE: Coil UVB bulbs (uneven spread), Mercury Vapor bulbs (too hot), LED UVA/UVB combo bulbs (produce dangerous UVC radiation causing skin/eye injury).

MYTH: Heat mats are safer than heat lamps

FALSE. With proper thermostatic control, overhead heating is both safe and superior for health. Heat mats don't provide the beneficial short wavelength IR, and belly heat can cause dehydration.
